Dear Mom,

Not much to tell this week, Just trying to work hard with the investigators so that they’re prepared to be baptized. We saw a frog get run over this week. It was really sad. The frog reminded me of that singing and dancing frog with a top hat from the cartoons, then it got smushed.

Then we visited a less active member who told us the reason why she was less active. She had a negative experience with some members about 2 years ago, and stopped coming regularly. Then she was on the committee for EFY. She had been praying for an answer on what to do, but didn’t receive any answer for a long time. Then she got a phone call from the stake presidency and they told her they were going to have to release her from her assignment with EFY because she wasn’t going to church, and she broke down crying because it was the only thing that was connecting her to the church. SHe felt like that was the answer she got, that she should disconnect completely. Then while she was crying in her room after the phone call, her little sister said that someone came to the house looking for her, and when she came downstairs she realized it was the missionaries. Then she told us that it was us. Elder Vergara and I had knocked her door and we shared a little with her not knowing what had happened. But after that visit, she started coming to church again.

Since then, we’ve been trying to visit her at least twice a week for the past 5 weeks, but we never get the timing right, and we always miss her. Then we went on Saturday, and she told us this story. She said that since she got baptized two years ago, the missionaries never came to visit her again, and that we were the first ones to come by. She came back to church because she realized that when we stopped by, it was the answer to her prayers. It was the first time I had heard something like that from anyone, and it felt really nice. Then she gave us a piece of cake and we all felt so good that my comp and I forgot that we were fasting, and it ruined the fast, but it was a great experience nonetheless. That was the coolest thing that happened this week. I’ll talk to you soon!

Love,

Elder Kuoha

This is a Presidential Candidate with a family of converts/investigators. Various things I'd like to point out. 1. The cute little girl struggling to do the peace signs 2. The fact that this country is so small that this Presidential candidate has time to ride around and take pictures with random people in random streets in small neighborhoods in random parts of the country 3. The fact that he is a Nixon imposter
